The Brent Central Conservative Association hosted the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, the Rt. Hon. David Gauke MP, for dinner on 6th July 2017.
Mr. Gauke, a former Deputy Chairman of the local Conservative Association, spoke of his fond memories of campaigning in the area in 2001, when he was the parliamentary candidate for Brent East. Conservative Associations in Brent, he noted, are defined by their diversity. Their members come from a variety of different backgrounds and are spread across the generations. The strength of Conservative politics in Brent flows from the vibrant atmosphere that this creates.
Mr. Gauke also spoke of our duty as Conservatives to communicate clearly the benefits of our approach to government in the wake of the General Election. The Government believes in sound financial management, the responsible use of taxpayers’ money and a commitment to reform in the national interest. Conservatives are clear about the challenges the country faces and committed to finding pragmatic solutions that will improve the lives of everyone.
