Rahoul is a highly experienced and energetic campaigner who has lived in North West London for more than four years. He brings extensive business experience, gained advising companies on the use of technology to improve their business performance, and is a committed local activist.
Rahoul was born and raised on the Wirral, but he is a proud Londoner and is convinced that our nation’s capital is truly the greatest city on the planet! He has fond memories of Brent from his childhood, especially visiting the McDonalds on Dudden Hill. Rahoul studied Economics at Southampton University and is passionate about ensuring everyone has access to a great education so that they have the ability to fulfil their potential.
Rahoul has been an active political campaigner in London since 2001 and was the Parliamentary Candidate for Streatham in 2010 where he won the first positive swing to the Conservative Party since 1979 and the election of 2 Councillors. He has a passion for politics and firmly believes that strong local voices are needed in Westminster. Rahoul has displayed his commitment to local causes through his involvement in the local community in West Hampstead, where he lives with his wife, and supported the Royal Free Hospital’s Paediatric ward Christmas appeal.
Rahoul is proud of his Indian/Gujarati background and passionately believes in helping all members of the community to get involved in politics and their community. His family has lived and worked in Brent for over 50 years; his in-laws are regular worshippers at Willesden Mandir and members of the Brent Central business community.
Rahoul’s priorities for Brent Central are:
- To improve education: A million more children go to good or outstanding schools than in 2010. But every child deserves an excellent education. My priority is more outstanding schools for local children
- Support our NHS: Our NHS is so important to local residents. As a result of our strong economy, Conservatives have been able to support the NHS with £10 billion extra in funding. Jeremy Corbyn would risk all of that.
- Back Theresa May’s plan for Brexit: I campaigned to Remain but – whatever your view on Brexit – we need a plan to get us through. Only Theresa May has a plan to make it work – Jeremy Corbyn, backed up by a coalition of chaos, would jeopardise Britain’s future.
- An economy that works for everyone: There are 2.8 million more people in work, with the security of a regular pay packet, since the Conservative came to power in 2010. Voting for Jeremy Corbyn threathens all the progress our economy has made.
- A safe and clean Brent: Any amount of crime, litter and anti-social behaviour is unacceptable.
